The buyer’s inspector found mold. How should I respond?
Review the report, photos, and requested scope before agreeing to work or concessions. An independent assessment can confirm the findings or clarify uncertainties without assuming the buyer's inspector is wrong.
What to consider
Ask where the concern is, what evidence supports it, and whether access or visibility limited the original inspection. A proposed remediation scope is a separate question from an observation of suspected growth.
Keep your agent involved while gathering more information so you do not miss deadlines. Qualified contractor proposals may be needed if actual work is being negotiated.
Our whole-house assessment provides written findings and next steps for that discussion. Laboratory reports are not automatically included or needed; they are optional extras when useful.
